What counts as a rip of or featuring a track? Why does a song suddenly become a rip of the track when it is convenient for a freqrip category?
General rips:
Renai Circulation - Bakemonogatari Portable - was treated as rip featuring Renai Circulation until this very post was made.
The track does not exist in the advertised game.
Green Hill Zone - Super Smash Bros. Melee - treated as a rip of Green Hill Zone.
The track does not exist in the advertised game.
(The above also tie into the “nonexistent track” idea I had a few months back. It would be an easy way to track them).
KFAD rips:
Harlem Shake - treated as a rip featuring Harlem Shake.
CAVE STORY - treated as a rip of Cave Story (Theme Song).
Gorilla - treated as a rip referencing “Gorilla” by Bruno Mars.
I’m pretty sure the current consensus for rips of tracks is that we link to them from relevant sections on the LOSFIR:
So… what do we do with these? It should be consistent, so whichever option is chosen should be done for all of them.
They are all rips featuring / referencing?
They will all be removed from the freqriptrack categories, and must instead be moved to respective “rips featuring” and “list of songs featured” pages.
They are all rips of?
All rior mentions of the tracks on categories/SFIR will need to be changed to “for rips of the track, see the category”. All relevant navboxes will need to be added to the KFAD categories, like with SSBU.
I don’t really like either of these options, but one must be done for consistency. Which of the ideas I presented do you prefer? Is there a third option I haven’t considered?
