To reiterate, new meme pages may be requested during a moot, if the moot's participants vote to approve them. Only one source may be requested at a time, and the presenter must justify why the source is a meme and list the criteria they used to categorize it as a meme.

Outside of this exception, this is a complete pause on creating new meme pages until we figure out a new system.

We have a field in the infobox for memes called "era", which sometimes includes the season which a meme became prominent or notable. The problem with this field is that it is difficult to say exactly when a meme became notable, especially since there is no concrete definition of a "notable" meme.

We do attempt to document the origins of memes as well as where they first appeared. If you have any specific examples of memes that you think could be better explained, I think folks would be happy to add more detail.

With regards to your idea, it seems like something that would distract from the main purpose of the wiki, which is documenting SiIvaGunner rips. The SiIvaGunner channel has the audio of most rips, and the rips not on the channel are either on Bandcamp (see Category:Tracks) or have reuploads (see Category:Removed rips).

There is no quota required to appear on the list of songs featured in rips subpages. There is a minimum rip count needed to be considered a SiIvaGunner meme, among other criteria.

Renard already has a section under "Emma Essex".

I checked the playlist, and it indeed looks like 29 rips use the source (not including rips of "Logan Paul Adventure"). Additionally, while the source is associated with April Fools' Day 2022, eight rips that use the source were uploaded outside of April Fools' Day 2022 ("Vengeance - Hotline Miami", "Mad Monster Mansion (Version Mix) - Super Smash Bros. UItimate", "Dark Land (NTSC Version) - Super Mario Bros. 3", "Reach for the Moon, Immortal Smoke - Touhou 8: Imperishable Night", "Lost Woods - Mario is Missing! Done Right", "Olympus - Hentai Area 51", "Quest: Bridge the Gap - Sonic Frontiers", "Rave DJ - Tower Defense Simulator"), which means it fulfills the criteria for a single-source meme.

Hello, and thank you for posting and starting this discussion! This is something we've seen mentioned a bit recently, especially given some recent high-profile wiki moves.

We recognize how major a wiki farm move would be, and we would only do so with overwhelming support from many facets of the SiIvaGunner community. To date, there has not been a push to move hosts, and there are no plans to do so at this time. If things change, we'll gather feedback from the SiIvaGunner community and host a lengthy discussion on the wiki.

Speaking personally, I think we've had pretty positive interactions with Fandom since we started the wiki. I can think of several times where Fandom support and staff have helped us and been very supportive.

Hopefully that answers the question from the admin side. I would be happy to hear from other members of the wiki community and SiIva community on this.

Thanks for bringing this topic up. Contributor pages have been a frequently discussed topic within in the mod team in the past, but it's good that we're talking about it here.

For a bit of context: We have several members of the SiIvaGunner community in our mod team and the SiIva Wiki community, the majority of whom wish to remain anonymous. Some contributors felt uncomfortable with the amount of personal information on the wiki and felt that they were being stalked by wiki editors.

We talked with some members of the SiIva backroom in 2021 about some of these concerns. Contributors previously had no control over whether they were on the wiki or not, which meant that contributing to SiIvaGunner not only meant contributing to the channel, but potentially having your entire online persona exposed on the SiIvaGunner Wiki. We decided to restrict content on contributor pages to only SiIvaGunner-related contributions and gave contributors the option to "opt out" of having a page on the wiki.

We've performed this "opt-out" for a fair number of contributors to respect their privacy, and allowed contributors to remove parts of their pages that they are uncomfortable with. On the archival side, we've tried not to "lose" any metadata information on the wiki by keeping Category pages and allowing contributors to have their contributions under a placeholder fake name (e.g. "Sam").

All this to say: While we don't have formal rules about "ownership of content" on this wiki, we lean towards protecting contributors' privacy whenever possible and giving them some say over what goes on their pages, and even "opting-out" if they don't want them. After all, SiIvaGunner contributors are not public figures, just anonymous people on the internet.

@TurretBot Do you have a full list of pages related to SiIvaGunner that you would like to put in the disambiguation page? It is easier to evaluate this proposal if we have a scope to work with.

@Mick the Squirrel We did not discuss other projects, so no. The rule only applies to KFAD rips.

Apologies for the delayed response. This proposal was one of the proposals discussed during our July 2022 proposal review.

The wiki staff summarized this post into two sub-proposals:

1. Are normal rips with the title "Track - Game" rips of "Track" if "Track" does not exist in the game?

2. Are "KFAD rips" rips with the title "Track - KFAD" of "Track"?

Voting "support" means they should be counted as rips of the track, voting oppose means they should be counted as rips featuring the track

We voted 6-0 to Support proposal #1 and voted 0-6 to Oppose the second. This means that:

• "Renai Circulation - Bakemongatari Portable" should stay as a rip of "Renai Circulation", as should "Green Hill Zone - Super Smash Bros. Melee" with "Green Hill Zone"

• "Harlem Shake - SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day" will stay a rip featuring "Harlem Shake"

• "CAVE STORY - SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day" will become a rip featuring "CAVE STORY"

• "Gorilla - SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day" will stay a rip featuring "Gorilla"

Staff agreed with MJ's point that the metadata of "Track - Game" rips means they should be treated as rips of "Track". Staff also agreed that KFAD rips are fan arrangements that don't put a spin on the original songs.

The wiki staff team has voted 0-6 to Oppose the question "Should frequently ripped track counts include the counts of its subcategories?", and therefore approve the change proposed by the original thread author. We believe that tracks in subcategories must be "significantly different arrangements" and should have their own separate rip counters.

We did not define exactly what a "significantly different arrangement" was, so that is a discussion for another time.
