Ajit Pai

Ajit Pai is the former chairman of the United States Federal Communications Commission, or FCC, infamous for his stance against net neutrality. He is also the personification of the Harlem Shake meme. He was a competitor in the King for a Day Tournament, selected by the SiIvaGunner Backroom, where he was snapped out of existence by Thanos. He was then reincarnated twice, first as Proto-Metal Ajit Pai during the late stage of the tournament, then as Metal Ajit Pai in the King for Another Day Tournament.

He was later reincarnated for the third time as a virtual assistant on SiIvaGunner's computer during The Harlem Shakeover.

Rips[]

Main article: Harlem Shake

"Harlem Shake" is a meme on the SiIvaGunner channel, and is used on occasion to represent him.

As announced in "Hello :)", he became the host of the channel for The Harlem Shakeover after a gust of wind scattered his ashes over the SiIvaGunner mainframe. The event focused on rips featuring "Harlem Shake". As seen in "PSA from Former Chairman of the FCC Ajit Pai", he was eventually dragged into the computer's recycling bin, and has remained there ever since.

Additionally, Pai makes occasional physical appearances through the video "PSA from Chairman of the FCC Ajit Pai" by The Daily Caller, where his association with "Harlem Shake" originated from. He also makes a cameo in his "Metal" form in "Unusual Circumstances - A SiIvaGunner Christmas Comeback Crisis Side Story" and a vocal appearance in the "Metal Ajit Pai Political Ad" in "JET SET RADIO 7/6 ENCORE BROADCAST - Jet Set Radio Evolution".

King for a Day Tournament[]

Pai was the first competitor revealed for the tournament on July 17, 2018. His rips would include rips featuring "Harlem Shake", rips featuring fidget spinners, and rips featuring slow internet.

Most of the lore involving Pai during this event was revealed in The Susie ARG, courtesy of the "News Flash! SiIvaGunner: King For a Day Tournament" website.

As it turned out, Pai was not the first competitor selected for the tournament. John Notwoodman had initially selected Meowth to join the tournament, but since the latter never answered back (due to Team Rocket hiding the invitation from him), John had to pull Pai off the street and make him a competitor on the spot while making arrangements for the tournament to be held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center.

Pai lost to Thanos in Match 6 of Round 1. However, due to Thanos having the Infinity Gauntlet, Ajit Pai was snapped out of existence. He was the only competitor in the tournament to canonically die, and a funeral was held for him soon after the match. Later that night, however, a pair of FCC Agents arrive to reclaim what's left of Pai from his grave. Pai would eventually return to the Gaylord Resort, reincarnated as a Terminator-style robot known as Proto-Metal Ajit Pai. He would join his fellow competitors who were eliminated during the first round of the tournament in producing the First-Round Losers' Cypher. Following Unregistered HyperCam 2's tournament victory, the competitors were attacked by the Fighting Reject Team, with Pai quickly taken down by his doppelganger and his ashes scattered again.

King for Another Day Tournament[]

After his crushing defeat in the last tournament, Ajit Pai, now a sentient pile of dust, comes back with a vengeance… and a giant mech sponsored by Reese’s® peanut butter. Armed with a massive Nerf gun and fidget spinner, he is equipped to rule the Internet with an iron fist… and, of course, finally make his dreams of a Harlem Shakeover a reality.

Because Thanos killed Ajit Pai in the first tournament, he was reincarnated as an anime-style mech known as Metal Ajit Pai. Changes are as follows:

  • The Reese's hat, Nerf gun, and fidget spinner from KFAD1 have all been incorporated into his mech appearance.
  • He now sports a red antennae with the left side being shorter than the right, to resemble the Verizon logo. This both references his time serving as Associate General Counsel at Verizon Communications, and the. Gurren Lagann mech's similarly broken headpiece from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

His source list has been expanded to include rips featuring any Ajit Pai-related memes and rips related to mecha-related media such as the Gundam franchise, Neon Genesis Evengaleon, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, and the Transformers franchise.

In Round 1, Metal Ajit Pai faced Nico Nico and lost. Then in the Loser's Bracket, he faced Adam Levine and won. In Round 2 of the Loser's Bracket, he faced Wario Partners LLP and was eliminated.

  • He didn't have a demo playlist in the first tournament, being the only character to not have one.
  • Metal Ajit Pai, along with "Weird Al" Yankovic, Solid Snake, and DJ Professor K are the only characters to have victories in the second tournament but none in the first one.
