"Athletic Theme (Complete Version) - Super Mario World" is a high quality rip of the complete version of "Athletic Theme" from Super Mario World.

Jokes

This is an elaborate medley of songs mostly from Love Live! School idol project, with some channel memes thrown in, largely through melodyswaps of, and added instruments to, the advertised track. The songs are largely ordered by their appearance in the anime series, including the movie.

At 2:50, the image suddenly changes to the Yume Nikki thumbnail image, but edited to read Yume Maki, as the music becomes a melodyswap of "Snow World" from Yume Nikki with "Music S.T.A.R.T!!" This section is a reference to the OVA between Love Live's first and second seasons, which takes place in Maki's dreams.

At 5:15, right as "Snow halation" is about to come in, the rip switches to something completely unrelated: the image changes to the Ocarina of Time thumbnail image, as the music becomes a melodyswap of "Horse Race" from Ocarina of Time with "Make Debut!", the OP to Uma Musume: Pretty Derby (playing off of that series' premise, which is about horse racing).

At 6:23, the instrumentation suddenly switches to a realistic piano. At 6:36, the "Athletic Theme" instruments are gradually brought back in.

At 7:53, the music is abruptly cut off by "Snow halation", as the visual changes to the usual format for "Snow halation"-centered rips: μ's stage slowly panning down, with animated snow. However, at 7:58, the music suddenly becomes a mashup with "Athletic Theme", with some melody additions, and the stage jarringly pans down as the Super Mario World logo appears in the center of the screen. At 9:00, the logo slowly rises, as chibi versions of μ's members walk onscreen one by one. Honoka initially walks right offscreen before jumping in surprise and taking her place in the group. Last of all, Smol Nozomi rises up in the center of the line, and the group dances to the music.

At 10:51, the image returns to normal, as the music becomes a simple melody addition/melodyswap of "Athletic Theme" with "Meet the Flintstones" and "Snow halation". However, the music gradually slows down to a crawl, and on the last note of "Snow halation", the music changes to the end of the original "Snow halation", as μ's on their stage appear behind the logo.

Trivia

  • This was uploaded on Nozomi Tojo's birthday.
  • Maracas can be heard during "Kitto Seishun ga Kikoeru" and "Donna Toki mo Zutto", the two ending themes for Seasons 1 and 2. Rin Hoshizora plays the maracas in each episode's ending animation sequence where these songs are played.
  • Maki is frequently associated with the piano, hence the use of a piano in the "Yume Maki" section. This is the same reason that "Aishiteru Banzai" switches to piano: Maki plays the song in the anime on the piano twice in the show.
  • "Dancing stars on me!" appears in a Halloween themed episode. This is why "Kyun! Vampire Girl" plays alongside it in the rip.
  • The chibis are ordered as they appear in the Snow Halation music video. Additionally, the entrance of some chibis correlate to the song where they enter:
    • Rin Hoshizora enters during "Hello, Hoshi o Kazoete", in which she is the center, singing with the other two first years in the movie.
    • Nico Yazawa enters during "?←HEARTBEAT" in which she is the center, singing with the other two third years in the movie.
    • Umi Sonoda enters during "Future style". She sings this along with the other two second years in the movie.
    • Honaka Kosaka enters during "SUNNY DAY SONG", in which she is the center.
    • Kotori Minami enters during "Bokutachi wa Hitotsu no Hikari" at a line where a pun is used with her name. ("Kotori no tsubasa ga tsui ni ookiku natte...")
  • The sleigh-bell-like sound effect that appears starting at 10:06 is from the Love Live School Idol Festival mobile rhythm game.
