"Awakening (Beta Mix) - Final Fantasy VI" is a high quality rip of the beta mix of "Awakening" from Final Fantasy VI.

This rip is based on "Awakening - Final Fantasy VI", where the melody changes to "Free Flight" from Ginga Force. However, the melody wasn't known to be "Free Flight" at the time of this rip's creation, so all elements of "Free Flight" present in this rip are based entirely on "Awakening - Final Fantasy VI", and aren't accurate to the original "Free Flight".
At 0:12, the melody begins to change to "Free Flight" as in the aforementioned rip, but almost immediately the chords switch to those of "Subways Of Your Mind", with the melody being altered to match. At 0:25, the melody fully changes to that of "Subways Of Your Mind". At 0:51, it changes back to "Free Flight". The rip loops over at 1:04.
The use of "Subways Of Your Mind" is meant to draw a parallel to the unidentified nature of both it and "Free Flight" at the time, though, ironically, "Free Flight" would be discovered only two weeks after this rip's upload. The title of the album release references this mishap. ("Subways Of Your Mind", incidentally, was also discovered almost one year after this album release.)
