"Bad Romance" was produced by Lady Gaga in conjunction with RedOne and released on October 19, 2009 for the album The Fame Monster. It is Lady Gaga's most popular song.
On April 3, 2016, the YouTuber LHUGUENY released "UNDERTALE THE MUSICAL", an Undertale-themed parody of of "Bad Romance", to capitalize on the recent popularity of Undertale at the time, with a slightly extended version released to streaming services.[1] Due to its highly inaccurate depiction of Undertale, as well as general bad singing, the video was poorly received. In mid-2020, it became the subject of ironic humor, receiving various meme edits, covers, mashups, and remixes. This popularity was also noticed by LHUGUENY, who released an instrumental version of the song[2] and referenced it in his video "SKIBIDI WARFARE".

The first two rips featuring "Bad Romance", "Flying Battery Zone (Act 2) (Beta Mix) - Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles" and "Flying Battery Zone Act 2 - Sonic Mania", were uploaded in 2017. Both rips reference a mashup of "Bad Romance" and "Flying Battery Zone" which was posted in March 2010. This is occasionally referenced in other rips.
After these rips, the song would be unused until April 2020. The first appearance of "UNDERTALE THE MUSICAL" was in the April Fools' Day 2020 rip "Final Destination ~ Super Smash Bros. Universe (April Fools)", and both "UNDERTALE THE MUSICAL" and the original "Bad Romance" would be occasionally featured in rips afterwards.
