"Battle! (The_Missing-Number) - SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day" is a high quality rip of "Battle! (The_Missing-Number)" from SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day. It represents the King for Another Day Tournament contender MissingNo..
Jokes[]
This is a glitch-style remix of "Battle! (Trainer Battle)" from Pokémon Red & Blue which incorporates tracks and samples mostly related to MissingNo.'s source list.
The intro slowly glitches before the main arrangement continues, referencing the "Sound bank corruption" glitch, which is caused by some glitch Pokémon sprites that leads to the corruption of the music, from the Generation 1 Pokémon games. At 0:44-0:53, "Hall of Fame" from Pokémon Red & Blue and Pokémon Yellow is quoted in reference to how MissingNo. corrupts the graphics of the Hall of Fame screen. From 2:17-2:31, samples from the Geshtro remix of "Lavender Town Theme" from Pokémon Red & Blue is heard in reverse. The rip loops over two times starting at 3:22 before fading out.
Various other samples are heard throughout the arrangement: Generation 1 Pokémon glitch sounds, various Windows XP sound effects, the "Rap Rat!" voice from the "Rap Rat" video commercial, Kefka's laughter from Final Fantasy VI, sound effects from Doki Doki Literature Club!, heavily distorted text-to-speech, and the scream from Luna Game.
Trivia[]
- When this track is viewed in a spectogram, the Lavender Town ghost appears during the "Lavender Town Theme" section, if the track is played in reverse. This is a reference to versions of the "Lavender Town" myth where the same images appear when "Lavender Town Theme" is viewed in a spectrogram. This trait is shared with another King for Another Day arrangement that "Lavender Town Theme" appears in, "'M 's Theme".
- An earlier, shorter remix of the rip, was originally removed due to being outdated and the creator being "dissatisfied" by the track. However, it was reuploaded on May 3, 2020, now known as "Battle! MissingNo.!" due to some people remembering the original version.[1]
