Bean Mourning Day,^[1] also known as Sad Bean Day,^[2] was a channel event on the SiIvaGunner channel paying tribute to the "death" of Green de la Bean.

Summary[]

On September 9, 2016, the Green de la Bean rip "Ground Theme (Super Mario Bros.) - Super Smash Bros. Brawl" was flagged by viewers and removed from the channel. This prompted the SiIvaGunner team to remove all other Bean rips from the channel, resulting in the Bean's "death". As a result, this event shows SiIvaGunner mourning the Bean's unexplained and sudden passing.

Almost all rips on this day included either a general sad tone or indirect references to the Bean, such as by the song title, game title, or using a song related to him, such as "U Guessed It" by OG Maco. This also included replacement uploads for most of the removed Bean rips. Tangentially, a large number of rips from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure games were uploaded, most of which were of "BLOODY STREAM" and/or deliberately low quality as an extra insult to the subset of viewers who incessantly requested rips related to the JoJo franchise. Most of the JoJo rips were released in the album JOEJOE'S BIZZAERE JOJOKE two weeks later.

During the event, the avatar was changed to a version of SiIvaGunner with a stream of tears coming down his left eye, while the banner was changed to have the lighthouse replaced with a faded image of Green de la Bean, with text, which uses the same font as on the single cover art for "Snow halation", to the left reading "That day... we lost something that could never be replaced.", and various sad characters being placed around Green de la Bean (from left to right):

At the end of the event, the rip "An Ending - Undertale" was uploaded, which also revealed that the Bean was SiIvaGunner's "son" the whole time, further explaining why the event took place. This event, as well as the Bean controversy in general, contributed to the negative reception and subsequent cancellation of the 9/11 2016 event that occurred the next day. The mass deletion of rips uploaded for the 9/11 event also caused two rips from this event to be removed due to its proximity.
