Homestuck

Homestuck is a webcomic created by American author and artist Andrew Hussie. The first installment released on April 13, 2009 on the website MS Paint Adventures. The webcomic contains a large selection of music, alongside multiple flash games.

Alongside rips of Homestuck proper, this playlist contains rips of the Flash games Alterniabound and Openbound, which were released as part of the comic. Alterniabound's thumbnail is an edit of the related album cover, while Openbound uses an original piece of artwork.

The thumbnail used for this playlist is an extended version of the cover art for Homestuck, Book 6: Act 5 Act 2 Part 2, with a small area above the logo edited to have "Loss".

History[]

Originally, before the creation of this playlist, the Homestuck songs were being used in other games of the same franchise, most of them being from Hiveswap in particular. By October 24, 2023, however, this playlist was created and became public alongside the release of the rips "Doctor (Original Loop) - Homestuck" and "Let's Read a Webcomic ~ You're Welcome (Unused) - Homestuck".

After the playlist being public, all the metadata of other songs from Homestuck from other playlists (most frequently Hiveswap) were renamed and moved into this playlist (with the exception of two Namco High rips where the joke referenced Namco). A post was also published on the community tab with a short gif, referencing one of the first shots of the video "Prologue - The SilvaGunner Christmas Comeback Crisis" with the Hiveswap playlist on the computer monitor and John Egbert's Retcon power, and a link to the Homestuck playlist with a arrow in the style of the ones found in Homestuck:^[1] It also features a drawing of Wood Man by Literallyn01imp0rtant from "Wood Man Stage (Birthday Mix) - Rockman 2 Complete Works".

On June 16, 2024, following the release of the rip "Title Theme - Namco High", the two remaining Namco High rips of Homestuck tracks were moved to this playlist.
