Shadow and the Snow Queen is the third game in the "Sonic Storybook Series", following Sonic and the Secret Rings and Sonic and the Black Knight. It is a collaborative effort between Sega and Disney, the latter very satisfied by the success of their Kingdom Hearts series and eager to create more video game crossovers with their properties. They chose to mix their new record-breaking hit Frozen with the ever-popular Shadow the Hedgehog, a tortured and complex character from the Sonic franchise who could have great chemistry with the character of Elsa. It is today known for its large and loving fanbase.
Shadow enters a world where a war will take place... A war between the people and the Snow Queen... But in a world like this, the difference between good and evil are thinned... No side seems to be good nor evil... It is up to Shadow to decide what is right and what is wrong... But as the Snow Queen pierces his heart, Shadow's judgement slowly freezes ever colder... The choices he will make will forever change the world... The question is: What is the right choice?... Or is there a right choice?...[1]
The soundtrack of the game was an gigantic hit, critics praising the mix between Disney's whimsical musical numbers and Shadow's trademark emo rock style provided once again by Crush 40, although most tracks were actually reused from the Frozen movie and the Shadow the Hedgehog video game.
