SiIvaGunner's Original Fusion Collabs

SiIvaGunner's Original Fusion Collabs is a playlist dedicated to the original fusion collabs made by the SiIvaGunner team. A fusion collab is a multi-segment arrangement based on a particular composition, in which the individual segments arrange part of that composition into different styles. They often include visuals, most commonly recreations of the logo for the style's source with the name of the composition's source, although other visual formats have also been used, such as depicting characters, and some fusion collabs do not have visuals.

The term 'fusion collab' was coined on the original GilvaSunner channel for the translated titles of "Green Greens Fusion Collab", "Dedede Fusion Collab", and "Gourmet Race Fusion Collab", which were originally part of a series of collaborative remixes led by the Japanese artist ああああ. The original Japanese name for the series is まったり楽しく編曲リレー！(lit. 'Relaxing and Fun Arrangement Relay!'), while the GilvaSunner titles are instead based on his prior upload of "File Select Fusion", an unrelated non-collaborative remix by Yamajet (the title "File Select Fusion" itself being a literal translation of that remix's original Japanese title).

Rips based on the aforementioned GilvaSunner uploads are placed in the kirbtunes playlist, rather than this playlist.

History[]

The playlist was created on August 8, 2017, a day after the release of "Kass' Theme Fusion Collab". The playlist thumbnail was originally the default, "The Schizophrenic Tower - For Moon Mansion Boss Act - Sonic After the Sequel". It was changed to "Lifelight Fusion Collab", likely around its release, and later changed to "Shop Fusion Collab" on February 18, 2024. On February 28, 2024, the playlist order was changed from oldest to newest first. It was also added on the front page, replacing SiIvaGunner All-Star Nuclear Winter Festival 2022: All Reveals/Specials.

Trivia[]

• The majority of fusion collabs include a section or part that contains "mm2wood". Initially, every single collab contained such a segment.^[1] This was broken by "Snowman Fusion Collab", which only contained a brief reference to "mm2wood" rather than a full segment. The second collab to not have one was "Yule Log Medley Collab" due to it being a medley collab rather than a fusion collab. The second medley collab, "11 Minutes of City Pop [Full Collab, VHS Rip]", was the first collab to not reference Wood Man in any way. Starting with "High-Quality Gourmet Race Fusion Collab", "mm2wood"-based segments have become less consistent.
• Translated titles and descriptions for Japanese are available for various fusion collabs, including "Great Days をまったり楽しく編曲リレー！", "夏色えがおで1,2,Jump! をまったり楽しく編曲リレー！", "地底フィールド (ドラえもん ギガゾンビの逆襲) をまったり楽しく編曲リレー！" and "ビギナーレベル (オセロワールド) をまったり楽しく編曲リレー！". The translated titles are based off of the まったり楽しく編曲リレー！ series.
