Sonic Mania is a video game developed by Christian Whitehead, PagodaWest Games, Headcannon and Tantalus Media (Switch) and published by Sega, on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows in 2017. The game's composer is Tiago "Tee" Lopes. The game also received an expanded version titled Sonic Mania Plus, developed with Hyperkinetic Studios and composed with Falk Au Yeong, on the same platforms in 2018.

"A Manic Announcement" is an announcement in the style of the trailer for Sonic Mania, promoting the album Haltmann's Highest Quality Video Game Rips. Though, besides the cover and containing a few rips of the game, the album's contents had little to do with it.

3 years later, the album Totino's Mania Original Soundtrack was released. It includes all rips from the game featuring Totino's.
