Sonic the Hedgehog 2: Special Edition is an unreleased enhanced port of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 developed by Sonic Team for the Sega CD 32X in 1996. The game's soundtrack was composed by Masato Nakamura and arranged by Topher Florence.
In reality, Sonic the Hedgehog 2: Special Edition is a fake game and was an elaborate hoax created by Topher Florence (aka docfuture). He first mentioned having a copy of it in 2007 on a Something Awful thread, given to him by his "uncle who worked at Nintendo", then started a Let's Play series and also uploaded promotional videos made for the game.[1][2]
