"Continue?" is a track that plays in Felix the Cat after losing a life. It is also a meme on the SiIvaGunner channel.

Overview[]

"Continue?" actually originates from Uwol: Quest for Money. Specifically, it's the title theme composed by Augusto Ruiz. The Genesis arrangement of this song by Shiru was one of the many themes stolen and used in the Russian bootleg game Felix the Cat for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive (which is based on the NES game of the same name from 1992, but with completely different, unrelated music including "Continue?"). In Felix the Cat, the tempo is noticeably faster than intended.

In a June 2015 stream[1], Vinesauce Joel played the Felix the Cat bootleg. He died and ended up at the continue screen. Joel wanted to end the game so he chose "НЕТ" (Russian for "no"), notably mispronouncing it as "hhhhhet". This prompted a game over screen with text reading "ИГРА ОКОНЧЕНА" ("THE GAME IS OVER") over a 2011 artwork by artist Kris "Dozign2kill" Balerite titled Felix the Cat Unmasked.[2] The artwork depicts Felix ripping off his own face, revealing a one-eyed skull underneath, with blood spilling from his torn-off skin. Joel's shocked reaction became a meme in the Vinesauce community.

The first rip to feature "Continue?" is the infamous removed "Puzzle Room - Kirby: Planet Robobot" rip, also known as the Puzzle Room incident, which directly parodies the Felix the Cat continue and game over screens. The extreme infamy of "Puzzle Room - Kirby: Planet Robobot" caused "Puzzle Room" to become a meme on SiIvaGunner (which has appeared in over 200 rips). The first rip making light of the incident, "Continue? - Felix the Cat" (where the joke is "Puzzle Room"), was also the first rip of "Continue?".

Through association with "Puzzle Room", "Continue?" would also become a recurring joke on the channel, albeit to a lesser extent. The vast majority of rips featuring "Continue?" are rips of or also featuring "Puzzle Room", and Felix the Cat is used to personify both "Continue?" and "Puzzle Room" on the channel. "Continue?" had a small bump in relevance during the Puzzle Room Rip 1st Anniversary and Putin Takeover channel events.
