"How's it hangin'? I'm David Pumpkins! And I'm gonna scare the hell outta you... [...] Any questions?"
―David S. Pumpkins in "Haunted Elevator (ft. David S. Pumpkins)"

David Simon Pumpkins is a recurring character in the American sketch comedy television show Saturday Night Live. He is a meme on the SiIvaGunner channel.

Overview[]

David S. Pumpkins is a Halloween-themed character created by Bobby Moynihan, Mikey Day, and Streeter Seidell, and played by Tom Hanks, inspired by the YouTube video "Little Superstar".[1] He first appeared on the October 22, 2016, episode of Saturday Night Live in the sketch "Haunted Elevator (ft. David S. Pumpkins)", in which a couple repeatedly encounters him in a "100 Floors of Frights" horror attraction. David appears alongside two men dressed in skeleton costumes, dancing to jaunty music based on the song featured in "Little Superstar" ("Holiday Rap" by MC Miker G and DJ Sven), while offering little to no explanation regarding himself or what his role is supposed to be, simply restating his name and repeatedly asking "Any questions?"

The character quickly garnered a positive reception among audiences, and has since reappeared in several Saturday Night Live sketches. He also received his own standalone appearance on October 28, 2017, in the animation The David S. Pumpkins Halloween Special.

Rips[]

David S. Pumpkins was first referenced on SiIvaGunnner in two rips uploaded during The SilvaGunner Spooktacular Halloween Horror Special in 2016, "Dogsong (Halloween Mix) - Undertale" on November 6 and "Complication - Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective" on November 7, both of which feature his theme song. Since then, he has been referenced in several rips, particularly during Halloween channel events. After a slight increase in rip appearances in 2022, he was then prominently featured in Wood Man's Halloween House Party (ft. David S. Pumpkins), during which many rips featuring him and his theme song were uploaded.
