"Final Destination - Super Smash Bros. Melee" is a high quality rip of "Final Destination" from Super Smash Bros. Melee.
Jokes[]
The opening of the advertised track loops for four times. At 0:22, several shine sound effects play followed by Fox saying "C'mon!" and the advertised track continuing.
At 0:25, the advertised track is mashed up with "Respect Your Elders" by Chillin (chillindude829 on YouTube), a professional Fox player in Melee, with the shine sound effect and various Fox lines playing throughout. The mashup references the content of "Respect Your Elders", being a diss against a fellow Fox player Leffen before a "Salty Suite" (an exhibition match with high stakes) between the two in which the loser would not be able to use Fox's default palette in any further tournaments.
At 1:00, a vocal instrument plays "Meet the Flintstones" in the background. At 1:30 and 1:36, the announcer lines saying "No contest" and "Success!" respectively play. At 1:47, the announcer saying "Super Smash Brothers Melee!" plays with "Melee" being extended to last longer until 1:57. At 2:16, the announcer saying "This games winner is... Fox!" plays, with "Fox" being repeated several times, followed by the scream from "The Rap Battle (PARODY)" by Supa Hot Fire plays and then Loud Nigra at 2:22. The rip ends with a clip of Chillin saying "My B" after losing said Salty Suite against Leffen 0-5.
History[]
This rip was originally uploaded on March 17, 2016, though this version lacks Chillin saying "My B" at the end of the rip.[1][2] This version was originally reuploaded on April 16, 2016, although was deleted and replaced with the current rip.[3]
At a point during or before April 1, 2017, this rip was renamed to "30 Final Destination - Super Smash Bros. Melee" in reference to Chillin ranking it 30th (out of 32) "Respect Your Elders" remixes in a livestream.[4] It was changed back to its original title during or after July 10, 2017.[5]
Trivia[]
- The "(20X-Mix)" in the track title refers to "20XX", an in-joke in the Melee community referring to a future where everybody plays frame-perfect Fox.
- turdl3, the author of the rip, commented saying "still better than final destination".[6] This comment was hearted by SiIvaGunner.
