"Friday" is a teen pop single performed by Rebecca Black. It was written and produced by the founders of ARK Music Factory, Clarence Jey and Patrice Wilson. It was first released on March 14, 2011, as her debut single.
The song was received extremely negatively and went viral, with the first upload of the music video on YouTube receiving over 3 million dislikes, surpassing the dislike count of Justin Bieber's "Baby" music video (which had 1.17 million at the time). The music video was deleted from YouTube on June 11, 2011, due to legal disputes, but was officially re-released on September 17. Before YouTube hid dislike counts for all videos in December 2021, it ranked as the twenty-fourth-most disliked YouTube video of all time, with over 4 million dislikes.
On February 10, 2021, Black released an official hyperpop remix of the song produced by Dylan Brady from 100 gecs to commemorate the song's 10th anniversary.
Rips[]
The first rip to feature "Friday" was "7AM - Animal Crossing: New Leaf", uploaded on May 1, 2016. The song didn't have a notable usage in later rips until (Rebecca) Black Friday, a channel event that took place on November 27, 2020, where all the rips uploaded during the day featured the song.
