All rips uploaded on this day featured "Goomba Got Back". A handful of rips also featured references to VvvvvaVvvvvvr, referencing the association of "Goomba Got Back" with VvvvvaVvvvvvr, such as referencing channel memes or being of frequently-ripped tracks on VvvvvaVvvvvvr.

During the event, the avatar was changed to be in the style of Gaijin Goombah's avatar, while the banner was initially changed to include Gaijin Goombah inside the lighthouse, in place of Tito Dick. The rip "GENE163-1425 - MOTHER 3" was also set as the featured video for returning subscribers.

After the release of the rip "Main Theme - Goomba Got Back 2", the channel banner was changed to an elaborate collage with the following details, mostly referencing the "Goomba Got Back" video:

• The background has writing in a Mario dingbat font, reading "TURN AROUND STICK IT OUT / EVEN KOOPAS GOT TO SHOUT".
• Background assets from Gaijin Goombah's videos are added, including the dojo to the left.
• Red lightrays from "Goomba Got Back" are added in the background.

Rips were initially uploaded every hour. After the release of "Main Theme - Goomba Got Back 2", rips were uploaded every 15 minutes, with minor variations throughout.

On January 12, 2024, on the 10th anniversary of "Goomba Got Back", the album GiIva Got Back was released, containing the rips from the event, as well as additional tracks featuring "Goomba Got Back". The album's release was done alongside a similar VvvvvaVvvvvvr channel event.
