This is a short loop which is used for the overworld map in the first world of the game, which is also called Grass Land. The song would later be rearranged for Super Mario All-Stars, Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario 64 DS ("Rec Room"), and Super Mario Maker ("Course World", "100 Mario Challenge").
There are currently 40 rips of "Grass Land" on the SiIvaGunner channel. Almost all of the rips are simple melody changes and arrangements, with only 2 of them using a mashup as the major joke.
The original NES version was mostly popular to rip in Season 2 and early Season 3. Since then, "Grass Land" has become commonly cited by rippers as a prime example of an over-ripped song[citation needed] (which has also led to frequently ripped tracks in general being discouraged and held to higher standards).
