Green de la Bean, also known as the Bean or Beaned, refers to a bait-and-switch-like image of a cartoon green bean with text declaring that the reader has been "beaned". Originating on Facebook posts, this meme has since moved on to the SiIvaGunner channel.
Rips
When Green de la Bean appears, a song bass-boosted, volume-boosted, and saturated to the point of unidentifiability plays alongside it, as well as strange visuals involving the bean image, in an attempt to scare the viewer. Most of the time, the appearance of Green de la Bean is announced with a voice (actually a clip from the song "U Guessed It" by OG Maco) yelling "Bitch, you guessed it!" before cutting to the beaning. This meme first appeared in the "Fun Park Massive - No One Can Stop Mr. Domino!" rip.
Most of the community reacted negatively to the meme. On September 9, 2016, the rip "Ground Theme (Super Mario Bros.) - Super Smash Bros. Brawl" was flagged and then taken down by YouTube. Reacting to this, SiIvaGunner removed every rip containing the Green de la Bean meme.
On September 10, 2016, SiIvaGunner's banner and avatar changed. The whole day was dedicated to remembering the Bean's death.
Rips that indirectly reference the Green de la Bean meme appeared after the removal of the meme, usually by incorporating U Guessed It into the rip.
The Bean has reappeared several times during The SiIvaGunner Christmas Comeback Crisis, notably as a joycon controller in the rip "Opening - Nintendo Switch Presentation" on January 13, 2017, but the bass-boosted song was lowered in volume. The Stringbots are also heavily inspired by the Bean.
Trivia
- Egghead could be seen as a successor of sorts to the Bean, as he is also a character that appears at random and jumpscares the viewers. This is especially so for his appearances in mid-2017, where he would frequently play an earrape sound effect. However, Egghead did not receive as much hate as the Bean, likely due to Egghead's appearances being more telegraphed.
