Homestuck is a multi-media webcomic franchise created by American author and artist Andrew Hussie. It is a meme on the SiIvaGunner channel.

Overview

Homestuck is the fourth of Hussie's MS Paint Adventures, originally ran from April 13, 2009, to April 13, 2016. Homestuck is normally described as a webcomic and mainly consists of single-panel pages, but also relies heavily on Flash animations and instant message logs to convey its story, along with the occasional use of browser games.

Its plot centers on a group of teens who trigger the inevitable destruction of Earth by installing the beta version of an upcoming PC game, Sburb. The teens soon come into contact with a group of Internet trolls who are revealed to be horned aliens, and these trolls work with the kids to create a new universe by completing the game. It has been noted for its complex and nonlinear plot, considerable length at over 8,000 pages and 800,000 words, and intensely devoted fan community.

The success of Homestuck has resulted in numerous related projects and sequels, including the Hiveswap series of adventure games.

Rips

Most early rips featuring Homestuck used "MeGaLoVania" and were made by Trogdorbad, with two other rips featuring "Showtime (Original Mix)". Starting with the rip "Epona's Song (Extended Mix) - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time", other songs used in Homestuck would begin appearing in rips. It wouldn't be until 2020 and 2021 that saw the most usage of songs used in Homestuck. The channel would also celebrate the anniversary of Homestuck over multiple years, with 2020 and 2023 having channel events.

Initally, many Homestuck games, particularly Hiveswap, were used as joke games to upload rips of music from the webcomic, rather than the actual games themselves. Hiveswap would also see some rips featuring "Astronaut in the Ocean" and/or "Yankin" during their more prominent usage on the channel. On October 24, 2023, a playlist would be created to house rips of Homestuck proper, with most rips being moved and renamed to said playlist.

The most used track unique to Homestuck (i.e. excluding "MeGaLoVania") is "Showtime (Original Mix)". Many rips referencing it feature "Original Mix" as a mix name.
