"Inward Singing" is a skit by American comedy rock band Tenacious D from their first album, Tenacious D (2001). It is also a meme on the SiIvaGunner channel.
Origins[]
"Inward Singing" is one of several comedic skits on the album Tenacious D.[1] During the skit, Jack Black brags to bandmate Kyle Gass about his newfound ability to sing by inhaling rather than the typical exhaling. After Kyle is not suitably impressed, Jack Black flies into a rage, cussing out his bandmate with extreme amounts of profanity. The argument culminates with Kyle quitting the band, which segues into the next song on the album, "Kyle Quit the Band".[2]
The skit achieved wider prominence in 2006, when YouTube users began creating videos that interspersed genuine clips from well-known media with unrelated audio for comedic effect. These unrelated audio clips were often from Tenacious D's albums, especially Jack Black's profane ranting from "Inward Singing". These videos became known as "SpongeBob Edited Videos", before later being associated with the YouTube Poop (YTP) scene.[2]

On the SiIvaGunner channel, "Inward Singing" is usually featured as a joke in rips parodying the "SpongeBob Edited Videos" genre and very early YouTube Poops, such as Prologue - Disney's Beauty and the Beast Magical Ballroom, Tutorial - The Town with No Name, and BGM 21 - Elf: The Movie. This includes the first video to include "Inward Singing", SiIvaGunner YouTube Trailer from April 9, 2018. It is also often included in medley rips.
