Jack Black defines Octagon is a clip taken from "The Golden Triangle of Destiny" episode of Sesame Street in which Jack Black teams up with Elmo to define the word "octagon". It is a common source material in YTPMV and 音MAD video remixes and a minor meme on SiIvaGunner.

Jack Black's Word of the Day skit was first uploaded to Sesame Street's official YouTube channel on July 18th, 2008 as a teaser for the 4161th episode of the children's show which premiered on digital cable television channel PBS Kids Sprout on August 11th, 2008. As of March 2024, the YouTube video has been viewed more than 11 million times.
The first remix using the clip was "Jack Black defines orgasm", uploaded to YouTube on November 24th, 2008 by warmandcrispy. Throughout 2009, additional YTPMV remixes were uploaded with the snowclone title "Jack Black Defines X". The remixes saw an increase in popularity after the well-known YTPMV creator MatrixMarioX posted the video "Octagons have ⑨ Sides" in January 2010, set to "Beloved Tomboyish Girl" from the Touhou Project series. The source also took off on Nico Nico Douga in late January 2010, after someone reuploaded MatrixMarioX's video.[1]
"Jack Black defines Octagon" has remained as a popular source in YTMPVs. The YTPMV collaborative channel "OctagonCollaboration", fully based on YTPMV collabs using "Jack Black defines Octagon", uploaded the collab "8 Awesome Angles of YouTube" on YouTube. Jack Black himself commented on this collab, saying "Good".[2]

Octagon YTPMVs have spread into SiIvaGunner channel. The meme's usage on the channel is continued from the pre-existing memes, and they are minor memes that don't get used very often. The main exception is the King for Another Day Tournament, where Jack Black was teamed up with Elmo from Sesame Street to form the team Jack & Elmo. Arrangements by Jack & Elmo in the tourney heavily featured "Jack Black defines Octagon" and frequently referenced YTPMVs using it. OctagonCollaboration also commented "This is embarrassing." on the "Snow Jack" arrangement, this comment was hearted by SiIvagunner.
