The King for Another Day Tournament is an upcoming sequel to the King for a Day Tournament. It was first hinted at in this Tweet by the @GiIvaSunner Twitter account, and properly revealed during the SiIvaGunner team's MAGFest 2019 panel and later the video "Reveal Trailer - SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day Tournament".

Only a limited amount of info has been confirmed by the SiIvaGunner team apart from confirmed characters:

  • The tournament was going take place in mid-July or August 2019, but on August 13, 2019, it was announced on the MOJO!! that the tournament was delayed. It is still expected to start before the Summer of 2019 ends, but it's not guaranteed.[1]
  • Mario and Monika will not be in the tournament.
  • A website, "The King for Another Day Tournament Mojo!!", is being used to share news, fighter information, music, and other relevant details all the way up through when the tournament proper commences.[2]
  • As with the previous tournament, the winner of each matchup will be decided by popular vote.
    • However, this year there will also be a loser's bracket.
    • In addition to the winner receiving their own event day, the runner up will also receive a fusion collab.

A total of 32 characters will be joining the roster, mixing veterans from the previous tournament with a slew of new contenders. 13 contestants return from the previous tournament; Unregistered HyperCam 2 (the winner) and Etika are completely absent while the Dancing Alien Team was split up and paired with other veterans.

In addition, 19 new fighters enter the tournament, complete with Smash Bros.-esque reveal trailers, some of which are hidden within rips. Similar to the first tournament, half of the newcomers are fan-submitted characters.

  • To decide the first two newcomers revealed, the team hosted a poll during the panel. Quote was decided from 8 randomly selected characters from the poll, while Levine was an "executive decision" by Chaze the Chat.
  • Reggie was originally paired with Etika to form a team called The Joy-Con Men. However, following a series of events concerning the real Etika's mental health, Etika the character was removed from the tournament due to concerns that unwanted attention stemming from the tournament could negatively affect the real Etika's well being.[1]
  • The placeholder character art style, as seen in "Reveal Trailer - SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day Tournament", was a sketchy line art style similar to the first tournament. The finalized art style, with full coloring and heavy shading, was publicly revealed in "SiIva Direct • SiIva Lighthouse Live | E3 2019".
  • On June 26, a fake leak of the tournament's full roster was posted on /mu/ and r/GiIvaSunner. In the /mu/ thread, other hoaxers posted "evidence" for one of the contestants included in the leak, Mr. Bean, leading to speculation that even if the rest of the leak was fake, Mr. Bean could be a real contestant. On June 30, SiIvaGunner responded to the hoax by making a hidden Mojo page titled "Mr. Bean", posing as unreleased content regarding the character. However, the post actually contained the Green de la Bean image, and an audio post with a YouTube Poop-style edit of the "It's Spagett!" sketch from Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!:

Narrator: These two office workers are planning ahead for their meme, but what they can't possibly plan for is a surprise visit from The Bean. Let's watch.
[The two soundbites associated with The Bean, "U Guessed It" by OG Maco and "No Words" by Hopsin, play.]
Spagett: You just got so Beaned! I got ya, I spooked ya! You shoulda seen your faces! My name's The Bean, I do parties, and you just take my card, and if you need someone to spook ya...
Office worker: I saw somebody back there, I thought it was "Puzzle Room" or something, 'cause he'd been back there for like ten minutes pressing ДА, and then he jumped out, and I saw it wasn't a НЕТ, it was actually a full-grown Bean. That was kinda surprising. Uh, it wasn't--
Spagett: [giggling] BITCH YOU--

  • On June 20, 2019, Hinchy stated on Discord that there wouldn't be any more internet personalities added to the tournament, as the SiIvaGunner team learned their lesson from what happened with Etika.
