- "Once again, the ultimate battle begins. Thirty-two challengers seek the taste of victory. And though they all bring their best......only one will be crowned the KING FOR A DAY."
- ―SiIvaGunner presents... The KING FOR ANOTHER DAY TOURNAMENT!
The King for Another Day Tournament was a 2019 channel event and the sequel to 2018's King for a Day Tournament. It is the second and final tournament project in the King for a Day series.
Like its predecessor, it sees characters battling it out in an elimination bracket determined by the fanbase's votes, with the winner of the tournament receiving their own special day to take over the SiIvaGunner channel. The prize has also been expanded, with the final four contestants receiving collaborative projects.
History
The event was first hinted at in this Tweet from The Grinch Takeover. It was then properly revealed a few weeks later during the SiIvaGunner team's MAGFest 2019 panel. After the channel returned from termination, the rip "Reveal Trailer - SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day Tournament" was released, showing what was revealed at MAGFest.
Announcements related to the event were then sprinkled throughout the year. It was originally slated to take place in mid-July or August 2019 but was later delayed.[1] The event began on November 23, 2019.
Before the start of the tournament, only a limited amount of information was confirmed by the SiIvaGunner team (aside from confirmed characters):
- Thanos would not snap anyone out of existence during the tournament.
- The King for Another Day Tournament MOJO!! website would be used to share news, fighter information, music, and other relevant details.[2]
- Meowth would be interviewing characters on the MOJO!! during the competition.
- As with the previous tournament, the winner of each match-up would be decided by popular vote. However, this tournament would also have a losers' bracket.
- In addition to the winner receiving their own event day, the runner-up would receive a fusion collab.
The video "SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day Tournament Overview: CHOOSE YOUR CHARACTER!" revealed most other relevant information. Near the end of the tournament, the runner-up's prize was expanded; all four finalists will receive a collaborative project. Whether this will be a fusion collab, an album, a big video, or something else fitting for them remains to be seen.
Contenders
The tournament has a 32-member roster, mixing veterans from the previous tournament with a slew of new contenders. 13 contestants return from the previous tournament; Unregistered HyperCam 2 (the winner) and Etika are not competing, while the Dancing Alien Team was split up and paired with other veterans.
In addition, 19 new fighters enter the tournament, complete with Smash Bros.-esque reveal trailers, some of which are hidden within rips. Similar to the first tournament, half of the newcomers are fan-submitted characters.

As stated earlier, during the tourney the King for Another Day MOJO!! Would post interviews, mainly conducted by Meowth and Unregistered Hypercam 2 to get to know the contestants, and flesh out their world more.
Rips uploaded
The rips for this event were much in the same style as the original King for a Day Tournament, with completely original arrangements of music representing each character and their source list. New to this tournament were "dual arrangements", rips featuring two fighters' sources in a unique mashup arrangement, allowing for more unique rips.
Like before, all the rips were placed under a fake game, SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day Tournament in this case. However, while the original tournament had around 100 arrangements, this amount quintupled with the King for Another Day Tournament having over 500 arrangements, making its playlist the largest one on the entire channel.
Rips for the tournament were uploaded nonstop through the whole bracket all the way up until Christmas 2019. A few more rips were uploaded after this event as well. On January 8, 2020, "Credits" premiered, officially ending the event.
Schedule
There were 61 matches in total; this is more than quadruple the 15 matches of the 2018 tournament. The matches began at 12 am PST on November 23 and concluded on December 23, meaning the entire tournament lasted one whole month before the end was reached and a winner was announced.
The schedule is somewhat cyclical, with matches starting every six hours for the first two days of each five-day block from November 23 to December 3. (A few matches in winners' bracket round 1 were delayed due to production issues.) The results for each block have typically been announced all at the same time, after the conclusion of the last match. On the first two days of each block, new tracks have been uploaded to YouTube approximately every hour, with other days seeing one new track about every three hours. Some of the tournament's music was uploaded before the first match, with eight arrangements being uploaded on November 22 (as well as a small number before then).
- Times are in PST (UTC−08:00). Brackets are separated by side; click on each side to expand the bracket.

Final Boss Battle
To the surprise of everyone, during the announcement video of the Grand Final, the Crown itself decided to make the tournament last for eternity and took over Unregistered HyperCam 2's body, turning him into a kaiju version of himself known as Unrestrained HyperCam 2. The viewers are then prompted by John Notwoodman to massively like the video to power up The MF Like Button as a way to fight back the Crown and save HyperCam. The boss battle ended a day later, with HyperCam saved and the crown defeated. The grand finals resumed shortly after.
Finals
The last match, the grand final, has the winner of the winners' bracket (DJ Professor K) facing the winner of the losers' bracket (Mariya Takeuchi). DJ Professor K took home the gold as the tournament winner, and his takeover started on June 30, 2020, and ended on July 7, 2020. Mariya Takeuchi, Law & Disorder, and MissingNo. will also receive rewards at a later date as well.

Trivia
- To decide the first two newcomers revealed, the team hosted a poll during the panel. Quote was decided from 8 randomly selected characters from the poll, while Levine was an "executive decision" by Chaze the Chat.
- Reggie was originally paired with Etika to form a team called The Joy-Con Men. However, following a series of events concerning the real Etika's mental health, Etika the character was removed from the tournament due to concerns that unwanted attention stemming from the tournament could negatively affect the real Etika's well-being.[1]
- The placeholder character art style, as seen in "Reveal Trailer - SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day Tournament", was a sketchy line art style similar to the first tournament. The finalized art style, with full coloring and heavy shading, was publicly revealed in "SiIva Direct • SiIva Lighthouse Live | E3 2019".
- In response to a fan-made hoax leak posted on /mu/ and r/GiIvaSunner, SiIvaGunner teased one of the hoax's fighters, Mr. Bean, as a contender in the tournament with the fake reveal trailers "Troupple King's Secret Song (Unused Version) - Shovel Knight" and "You Guessed It! - SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day Tournament". It wasn't until SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day Tournament Direct 9.21.2019 the following day that Mr. Bean was revealed to be a fake contestant. On November 12, 2019, a Discord user by the name of PopCultureCorn revealed that he made the original leak.
- Two posters in the /mu/ thread posted unfinished versions of Mr. Bean's official art and the "You Guessed It!" trailer.
- In response to this hoax, on June 28 a /mu/ poster with the username of TheGayMexicanAssInTobyFoxsAss (referencing The Gay Mexican-Ass In My Ass) posted a leak that accurately revealed Law & Disorder, MissingNo., Donkey Kong, Eminem, and the Jazz Cats, as well as Reggie being paired with Bill Trinen.[5]
- The Jazz Cats were initially hinted at in an August 29 Tweet from the @GiIvaSunner account.[6]
- In addition to the extended Mr. Bean fakeout, the videos "Mariya Takeuchi In King For Another Day, Blue Album Out Today, Grand Dad Rip In April ∣ News Wave" and "Boss Battle Fusion Collab" ended with brief reveal trailer fakeouts for Spawn Wave and Sans, respectively.
- Both Loser-bracket finalists were newcomers who were knocked out during the first round of the competition.
- Some prominent video game composers have acknowledged the King for Another Day Tournament.
- Hideki Naganuma tweeted a picture from "THE TOURNAMENT CHAMPION IS..." after DJ Professor K. was confirmed to be the winner of the tournament.[7] He later retweeted and tweeted anything related to the tournament and the character.
- Grant Kirkhope shared the "Bubblegloop Swamp" arrangement on his official Twitter.[8]
