SiIvaGunner Wiki

"Lavender Town" is a frequently ripped track from the Pokémon series, and a meme on the SiIvaGunner channel.

Summary[]

Written by legendary Pokémon composer Junichi Masuda, this spooky track plays in the Kanto village of the same name. Lavender Town is home to many ghost-type Pokémon as well as the Pokémon Tower, which holds the graves of many dead Pokémon. This track first appeared in Pokémon Red & Blue and in the definitive version Pokémon Yellow. When the town returned in Pokémon Gold & Silver (and later, its remakes), the song was rearranged to sound happier due to story reasons. It also plays during the annual Pokémon GO Halloween event.

The song became infamous following a 2010 urban legend[1] that claimed hundreds of Japanese children committed suicide after listening to it. Since then, it is considered a staple of video game creepypastas and urban legends.
