The lighthouse is an iconic landmark in the SiIvaGunner universe. Featured on the real GilvaSunner's channel banner, it was copied by SiIvaGunner and became a mainstay element of the channel's aesthetic; the area surrounding the lighthouse is used as the basis for generic channel theming, while the lighthouse is frequently redrawn in different art styles or otherwise edited or incorporated into the various banner images used during channel events (in much the same way as the avatar).

While it doesn't have a specific name, the redesign of the lighthouse in The SilvaGunner Christmas Comeback Crisis is referred to as The Voice's Tower in various videos.

History[]

Giivasunner banner inital

The original GilvaSunner channel banner, copied by SiIvaGunner at the start of Season 1.

In early 2013, YouTube began rolling out a change to channel layouts named "One Channel".[1] in which the appearances of channel pages were standardized, giving creators less control but ensuring that the look of channels would be compatible across all platforms. With this new layout, all graphical customization was relegated to a banner at the top of the page.

GilvaSunner decided not to use the One Channel layout while it was optional, but on June 5, 2013, YouTube pushed it to all channels.[2] Following this, GilvaSunner decided to use a picture of a lighthouse from the then-unreleased game Tengami as his channel banner,[3][4] with the surrounding area enlarged to fit the banner width using content-aware scaling. Although he never changed his banner after this, YouTube layout changes eventually moved the visible part of the banner down slightly, revealing a bit of the black underneath the graphic.

On SiIvaGunner[]

Season 1[]

Upon the creation of GiIvaSunner (i), the lighthouse banner was copied along with the whole layout of the GilvaSunner (L) channel. After some time, Grand Dad was added to one of the lighthouse's windows, followed by Smol Nozomi and Loud Nigra,[5] though Nozomi is notably not Triple-Q's popular Smol Nozomi drawing, but rather a Niitengo figure of Nozomi in her "Snow halation" outfit.

At the start of SiIvaGunner: Rebooted, the entire banner was replaced with a blue screen of death, followed by a change back to the original lighthouse, with the characters replaced by Homer Simpson, Haruka Amami, and Peter Griffin, marking the first major lore-relevant changes to the banner.[6] Once the reboot ended, the characters changed back to Grand Dad, Smol Nozomi and Loud Nigra, but during July 2016, Tito Dick's face started covering the banner, with his opacity changing seemingly at random.[7] Then, on July 22, the reboot characters were added back to the banner, alongside the previous characters.[8]

During August, Tito Dick's face continued changing opacity occasionally.[9][10][11] At the same time, Mr Rental started appearing very slightly on the left of the banner, holding a gun.[12][13] On August 29, 2016, Misha made an appearance, and then whole lighthouse disappeared.[14] After 9/11 2016, the lighthouse reappeared, but only included Grand Dad, Nozomi, and Tito Dick inside.[15] Starting with Bean Mourning Day, a large string of single-day events with custom banners took place in the lead-up to the Season 1 Finale, beginning the practice of channel events having unique banners. At the end of the Season 1 finale, the channel banner would change for each of the final 7 rips. The first of these banners marked Wood Man's first physical appearance on the channel, appearing after the release of the rip "Wood Man - Mega Man 2".

Season 2[]

SCCC 00-21

The Voice's Tower in "Prologue - The SilvaGunner Christmas Comeback Crisis".

At the start of The SiIvaGunner Christmas Comeback Crisis, the lighthouse was taken over and remodeled by The Voice Inside Your Head, turning it into his headquarters. Reflecting this, the banner was changed to show his version of the lighthouse. This also revealed that, in-universe, the lighthouse is located in Grandiose City. After President Haltmann took over the channel for the remainder of Season 2, the channel banner was changed to an interior view of The Voice's lighthouse.

The original Tengami lighthouse would only appear briefly during the SilvaGunner: Rebooted 1st Anniversary event. During the first anniversary of Wood Man's debut, the banner was entirely replaced with a collage featuring Wood Man. During Christmas 2017, a grandfather clock was featured on the banner, which appears similar to the lighthouse.

Season 3[]

Siivagunner..

The first glitched banner used at the start of Season 3.

At the start of Season 3, the original lighthouse banner inexplicably returned along with (supposedly) SiIvaGunner, though with all characters removed except for Grand Dad. Over time, a small area of the banner became corrupted, along with a series of glitches in various other aspects of the channel. These were later revealed to be cause by the advent of The SiIva A.I., the new main host of the channel, and were fixed after the release of "Robotic Usurper [FILE-10] - Haltmann's Archives".

During the second Inspector Gadget takeover on April Fools' Day 2018, Inspector Gadget replaced Grand Dad, then later took over the banner entirely. During the Nostalgia Critic Takeover, the Nostalgia Critic blasted through the entire banner image, including the lighthouse. After these two events, the banner returned to the post-9/11 2016 banner featuring Grand Dad, Nozomi, and Tito Dick, which became the standard banner from that point forward.

Unique banners were largely relegated to the most significant events during Season 3, such as E3 2018, the King for a Day Tournament, the Unregistered HyperCam 2 Takeover, Halloween 2018, Christmas 2018, and the Grinch Takeover. Before the banner could be reverted to normal after the Grinch Takeover, the SiIvaGunner channel was terminated on January 4, 2019, and all YouTube activity was moved to SiIvaGunner2, which does not have a banner. When the channel was restored on February 28, the Grinch Takeover banner was quietly removed and the proper Season 3 Finale occurred.

Season 4[]

Only two unique banners were used during Season 4, though the lighthouse would make multiple appearances in streams during this season.

During The SilvaGunner Spooktacular Halloween Horror Special: Part III, the channel banner was changed to feature Wood Man's mansion after the release of "The SiIvaGunner Spooktacular Halloween Horror Special Part III: Episode 1".

During the King for Another Day Tournament, the lighthouse was replaced with the stage seen in "SiIvaGunner presents... The KING FOR ANOTHER DAY TOURNAMENT!" and the thumbnail of "BATTLEFIELD - SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day". This banner was used from the beginning of the tournament to January 9, when "Credits - SiIvaGunner: King for Another Day" was uploaded.

Season 4 Episode 2[]

The majority of the special banners in Season 4 Episode 2 were used for the "All-Star Festivals", two super-events which encompassed several other channel events and activities.

During the SiIvaSummer All-Star Festival, the banner was changed to depict a sunny beach with the same color scheme seen throughout the event. As the festival progressed, characters were added to the banner, each representing an activity that took place or special videos that were uploaded. Most events during the festival used this banner, except for DJ Professor K's takeover and the Phineas and Ferb events, which modified the entire channel's appearance.

During the SiIvaGunner All-Star Winter Festival, the banner was changed to depict a metropolitan city with a building resembling The Voice's Tower. The event largely followed the same format as the summer festival, with references to its special activities being continuously added to the banner throughout. Special banners were used for the Putin Takeover, the Panty & Stocking Finale 10th Anniversary, and the "Snow halation" 10th Anniversary.

Aside from the festivals, unique banners were also used for Valentine's Day 2020, MAR10 Day, Adult Swim Night, and The SilvaGunner Spooktacular Halloween Horror Special: Part CarnIVal. Outside of the channel, in March, the lighthouse was incorporated into the logo of The High Quality Podcast, the channel-related podcast hosted by New Guy.

Season 5[]

Channels4 banner

The standard banner used from Season 5 to the beginning of Season 7.

After the Big Time Rush 11th Anniversary event, Tito Dick was removed from the banner. This would become the banner's standard appearance throughout this season and the next.

On February 23, 2021, Amogus Day, the banner was changed to remove Grand Dad, Nozomi, and the all of the bars supporting the top of the lighthouse except for the far left and far right ones, making the lighthouse resemble appearance of the characters from Among Us. The banner was returned to its previous appearance on March 2, 2021.

On April Fools' Day 2021, along with the privatization of every Mario series rip, the Mario-like form of Grand Dad in the lighthouse was replaced with Fred Flintstone. The banner was returned to its previous appearance following the end of the event.

During the Pussy Yankover, the lighthouse was replaced with Lady, the performer of the event's sole source "Yankin". The banner was returned to its previous appearance following the upload of "Staff Roll - Super Mario Galaxy", a fake ending rip for the event, then returned to featuring Lady with four demonic backup dancers surrounded by cryptic symbols in a fiery hellish version of the Tengami background when the Yankover was revived on April 16. On April 19, following the upload of "YANKIN' FOREVER", the true ending of the event, the banner was returned to its normal appearance, now with the Master Emerald containing Lady being added to the top of the lighthouse, reflecting the events of "YANKIN' FOREVER", with Dr. Robotnik later stealing the Emerald.

During the SiIvaGunner All-Star Summer Festival 2021: Legends of the Western Sunset, the banner was changed to original artwork of Redwood posing on a cliff, with a construction resembling the lighthouse in the background. References to the festival's activities were continuously added, mostly in the form of wanted posters of Redwood's targets. Unique banners were used for PSY Day 6, the Space Jam Charity SLAM!, Christmas in July 2021, and the Gabe Newell Takeover. On August 5, the lighthouse was incorporated into the thumbnail for Super Star Symphony.

At the start of The SilvaGunner Spooktacular Halloween Horror Special: Part V, the banner was changed to a dark, foggy version of the standard lighthouse. After the first act of the Curse of the Fall Angel audio drama was uploaded, the banner was changed to feature the main protagonists of the drama traveling in Wood Man's Wood Van.

During SiIvaGunner's Inevitable Holiday Celebration, a super-event similar to the prior festivals, the banner also followed a format similar to those of the festivals, featuring the inside of a house filled with Christmas decorations. The only activities to feature unique banners were Tally Hall 19th Anniversary, which used a variation of the lighthouse, and JAM!uary, a continuation of the Space Jam Charity SLAM!, which used a variation of the super-event's banner.

Season 6[]

Loneliness - Tengami

The lighthouse as seen in the rip "Loneliness - Tengami".

On February 4, 2022, the day that the original GilvaSunner channel was deleted, the channel banner was changed to the original lighthouse. At the end of the event, five rips of Tengami were uploaded, the last one being "Loneliness - Tengami", which features the lighthouse itself.

Unique banners were used for several channel events during Season 6, ranging from single-day activities (such as Damn Daniel 6th Anniversary, April Fools' Day 2022, and the Family Guy Event) to multi-day events of larger scales (such as Newgrounds Day, The Harlem Shakeover, and Minecraft - Volume Alpha and Beta Day.

Throughout September, in the weeks leading up to the fifth anniversary of Fortnite Battle Royale, the lighthouse went through a series of incremental changes starting on September 13, when it began slowly tilting to the right. On September 16, Misha began appearing in a similar manner to his appearance in mid-2016, until the climax of the event on September 26, when Misha overpowered the lighthouse and the banner was transformed with several references to Fortnite. The banner was changed to a black hole the next day, then reverted to normal on September 28.

During Wood Man's Halloween House Party (ft. David S. Pumpkins), a Halloween event separate from the continuity of those in the previous years, the banner was changed to feature the inside of Wood Man's house, with David S. Pumpkins surrounded by several SiIvaGunner characters featured in the video announcing the start of the event. As the event continued, new characters were added to the banner, and a screen showing Mario Party 7 was updated to show the game progressing as well.

During SiIvaGunner All-Star Nuclear Winter Festival, the banner was changed to feature Wood Man and The Joke-Explainer™ 7000 around a campfire in a desolate wasteland. The banner was updated continuously, following the established festival format once again, this time with new characters and terrain features seen in Wood Man's travel logs published on social media. Special banners were used for all sub-events during the festival. After the SiIva A.I. was shut down in "Goodbye to a World Fusion Collab", all characters and features of the banner were removed as the channel experienced glitches reminiscent of those in the start of Season 3.

Season 7[]

Start of Season 7 banner

The glitched banner used at the start of Season 7.

At the start of Season 7, after the release of "Super Sonic Racing - Sonic R" on February 1, 2023, the banner was changed to a glitched collage of other banners from several channel events that occurred during the A.I.'s tenure as channel host. After the release of "The SiIva AI [FILE-17] - Haltmann's Archives", which established that the rips were now being uploaded by the original SiIvaGunner following the A.I.'s shutdown, the banner was reverted to normal.

Many events in this season saw the usage of multiple unique banners throughout them, such as Five Nights at Freddy's 3 8th Anniversary, South Park Day, Bootleg Day, and Whip and Nae Nae Day Day (Part 2).

During The SiIvaGunner Halloween Horror Special Part VI: The Cult of Proto, the banner was changed to an original illustration in the style of the visuals in The Cult of Proto audio drama, showing the regular lighthouse of New Engrand in place of the original Tengami lighthouse, with the area underneath showing a dark room with four candles around a pentagram.

On December 12, The SilvaGunner Christmas Comeback Crisis officially returned and the banner was changed back to The Voice's Tower, specifically a variation originally used after the release of "Loves the Ladies [Episode 7]".

This season also saw a series of unique occurrences featuring Tito Dick in the banner over the course of the year, largely separate from actual channel events except for occasional major activities:

  • During the first half of Season 7, rips featuring The Nutshack started to see more frequency. On February 22, Tito Dick's head started fading into the channel's banner, each week becoming more visible, in a similar manner to his appearance in late 2016. On April Fools' Day 2023, Tito's head was edited to make him to look furious, and the banner stayed this way even after the event ended.
  • On April 20, Tito began slowly fading out from the lighthouse. The number "425" (4/25, or April 25) then showed up below the banner in the style of the countdown from The Nutshack episode "420", and The Nutshack characters Ed and Bob Saget appeared in the banner.
  • On April 25, the sixteenth anniversary of The Nutshack, the Dick's Retribution event took place, with the banner changing for every new rip, usually with Tito Dick still inside the lighthouse, and Patty Martin from Lucky Star appearing in the cliff to the left. Patty would later disappear after the event ended (briefly appearing again when the rip "Fly in the Freedom (Passion & Pride ver.) - Sonic Adventure 2" was released), and Tito Dick stayed on the banner.
  • On May 30, Tito disappeared from the lighthouse again, and the number "531" (5/31, or May 31) appeared below, in the same style as the "420" number from prior. On May 31 and June 1, the Saidai Seichi Challenge event took place, in observance of National Flip Flop Day and the twelfth anniversary of the ending of The Nutshack. Similar to Dick's Retribution, the banner changed various times, starting with the appearance of Evil Dickman in front of the lighthouse. Patty Martin then reappeared at the top of the lighthouse and the two were shown fighting. The rip "Victory! (Wild Pokémon) - Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire" was then uploaded, indicating that Tito won the fight, and the banner was changed back to its appearance before May 30. Rips featuring The Nutshack were uploaded less frequently after this.
  • On November 7, following a break in uploads after the SiIvaGunner Halloween Horror Special Part VI: The Cult of Proto, the banner was changed to the regular lighthouse, but with Tito Dick missing. This would remain as the standard banner for the rest of November, even after other channel events. On December 1, after a short break following Goomba Got Back Day, Tito spontaneously returned with a burst of rips featuring The Nutshack for the No Nutshack November event. The banner was then changed back to normal the next day, now with Tito back in the lighthouse.
