"Lucid Dreams" was initially released on June 15, 2017 via JuiceWRLD 9 9 9.[2] It was later re-released on May 4, 2018 as a single, then on the 2021 version of Goodbye & Good Riddance.
It is structured around an interpolation of the song "Shape of My Heart" by Sting.
