DJ Ryson, also known as RysonRemix on YouTube and previously known as MysteriousNight, is a YouTuber and mashup composer. On December 3rd, 2009, he would release the track "TikTok Up The Dancefloor" both on YouTube and his blog,[1][2] a mashup between "Whine Up" by Kat DeLuna ft. Elephant Man, "TiK ToK" by Kesha and "Evacuate the Dancefloor" by Cascada, with a MediaFire download link of a higher-quality upload in the blog post's comment section.

After DJ Ryson's YouTube channel got terminated due to copyright, the mashup remained lost for a while, as Ryson never reuploaded it on his new channel. However, it eventually saw usage in the MEP community, leading to a YouTuber known as melteveryone reuploading the mashup to YouTube on August 12, 2023 after finding it in an MEP collaboration on YouTube.[3]

cake in the oven[]

Nintendrawer is a DeviantArtist who created her account on August 5th, 2007, and is known for posting various artworks of Nintendo characters, mostly from the Super Mario Bros. series. On June 11th, 2009, she would release a comic series called cake in the oven to her account on 2009.[4]

The comic is about Princess Peach and Mario having two baby twins, with the first page in question showing Peach revealing the news to Mario, in which after a brief of silence, it ends with Mario questioning if it was a joke. The comic went on for 10 pages, with the last page being released on March 11th, 2010, six months after the first page. She would also release a sequel to the series called hi, im pregnant, lasting from April 30th, 2010 to February 28th, 2014.[5]

MARIO BROTHERS MOVIE[]

"MARIO BROTHERS MOVIE" is a slide-show short film posted to YouTube by Maerwynn (now under the name Clixie) on August 1st, 2010. The slide-show is a collection of all panels of cake in the oven, with the color of the background changed from white to dark blue with yellow stars, and with added music and sound effects, with the latter in question being inserted between songs

The songs used in the video include:

  • "Dragostea Din Tei (Gabry Ponte Extended)" by Gabry Ponte - A extended remix of "Dragostea Din Tei" by O-Zone that is used during the intro of the first panel.
  • "TikTok Up The Dancefloor" by DJ Ryson - The previous mentioned mashup that is frequently used during the video.
  • Unknown Track #3 - A community given name based on a Google Sheet made by Henrique Rick. Used during the first conversation between Princess Peach and Daisy on page 2.
  • "Sexy Bitch" by David Guetta ft. Akon - Used during the interaction between Mario and Peach from page 3.
  • "My First Kiss" by 3OH!3 ft. Kesha - Used during page 8, when Mario is calling out to see the twins.

After the video's release, it became the most popular video on Maerwynn's channel, gaining over 25 million views. This lead to the creator releasing a sequel on September 2nd, 2015 based on hi, im pregnant. The original upload has the audio swapped with "Going, Going, Gone" by The 126ers, probably due to copyright reasons, YouTuber Barry B. Benson re-uploaded the video with its original audio on March 29th, 2021.

Rips[]

The first rip featuring "MARIO BROTHERS MOVIE" was "Poshley Heights - Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door" on December 8, 2022, also being the first rip featuring "TikTok Up The Dancefloor" and "Whine Up" on the channel. Since Season 7, it would be frequently used on the channel in the form of pairing and visual rips.

A majority of the rips that reference "MARIO BROTHERS MOVIE" often reference the pairing of the tracks "TikTok Up The Dancefloor" (notably only the tracks that used during the mashup), "Sexy Bitch", and "My First Kiss", as well as the sound effects heard in the video. Scenes/panels seen in the video are also used alongside them in visual rips, often in YTPMV rips.

Both "Whine Up" and "TiK ToK" would also be frequently used separately on the channel, with the former notably always appearing to reference its use in "TikTok Up The Dancefloor".
