"Moonsong" was composed by Daisuke Amaya for Cave Story. It plays in the Outer Wall, an uphill area connected to Egg Corridor? and the Plantation. The track became one of the most popular compositions in the game, inspiring several remixes based on it.
It was also arranged alongside the rest of the OST as part of the game's re-releases, such as Cave Story+ and Cave Story 3D.
There are currently 13 rips of "Moonsong" and its remixes on the SiIvaGunner channel. The first rip of the track, "Moonsong - Cave Story" was uploaded to the GiIvaSunner channel on April 5, 2016. After the GiIvaSunner Termination, it was reuploaded to the SiIvaGunner channel on May 1, 2016. This rip is also notable for being the first in a series of rips that combined tracks from the Veggietales series in the style of Cave Story. The track had few appearances during the first years of the channel, and saw a resurgence in usage during season 7.
It has also been featured as a joke in a handful of rips throughout the channel's history.
