Overdrive

"Overdrive" (also known as "Battling Precariously", "ryukenden", and "Shuric Scan 1.99crk") is a frequently ripped track from Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos. It is also a meme on the SiIvaGunner channel.

Summary[]

"Overdrive" was initially used in Stage 2-2 of Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos. Later, the track would also be used for the Ninja Gaiden Trilogy remake.

Eventually, "Overdrive" would be remixed by tPORt member SofT MANiAC into the track "ryukenden", which is more commonly known as "Shuric Scan 1.99crk". This remix became a standard choice for YTPMVs not unlike other chiptune tracks, with the first YTPMV to use it being posted in 2009.^[1] However, after the project file for the YTPMV "roomscan (No BGM)" by HispanicGirasol was spread around in 2011, it became popular to swap out its source video arbitrarily, with no further changes; due to the resulting mass of off-key, completely effortless YTPMVs, the track would gain more infamy than other common YTPMV backing tracks.
