"Roundabout" is a song by the English progressive rock band Yes. It is also a meme on the SiIvaGunner channel, owing to its use in the first story arc of the anime JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
Origins[]
"Roundabout" was originally released in shortened form in mid-1971 as a single from Yes's fourth studio album Fragile. In this form, edited down without the band's consent, it reached #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart position, a new record for the band. The full, eight-and-a-half-minute version of the song eventually saw release in November that year as part of Fragile. The full song, which is in the progressive rock genre, features many unique sections and extensive soloing in addition to the catchy verses. The song became one of the band's most well-known songs and a staple of their live set in its full length.
The song saw newfound mainstream attention when it was memorably featured in the end credits of the first story arc of the 2012 anime JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. In the anime, its appearance was accompanied by a graphic of an arrow with text reading "To Be Continued...". This became a popular internet meme, with numerous video edits being created of situations in which the song, alongside the "To Be Continued" arrow, humorously cuts off the video at a suspenseful or notable moment.
