"Showtime (Original Mix)" is a original battle-themed track from Homestuck. It is also a meme on the SiIvaGunner channel.
Summary[]
"Showtime (Original Mix)" is a track composed by Malcolm Brown for the multi-media webcomic series Homestuck. The track originally was used for the page 90, "[S] STRIFE!", during the fight between Dad Egbert and John Egbert. However before of that, the first appearances of the track would be by the page 77, "[S] John: Play haunting piano refrain.". In there, it uses a piano arrangement of the track called as "Showtime (Piano Refrain)", the same track was also re-used for the page 253, "[S] YOU THERE. BOY.".
The track also has another variant track called as "Showtime (Imp Strife Mix)", which was used originally for the pages 393, 397, and 400 ("[S] ==>==>==>!!!!!!!!!", "[S] GET UP JOHN, THIS IS NO TIME FOR SLUMBER.", and "[S] JOHN, SALVAGE YOUR WEAPON AND FIGHT ON!" respectively), in which John Egbert fights against an Jester Imp. A unreleased energetic-remix of the track called as "Trickster Mode (Engage)", which was used originally in the page 5711, "[S] Jane: Engage.". In which Jane Crocker consumed the Sucker. It would later re-used for the pages 5726, 5740, and 5759 (all in which called as "[S] ==>") when the other Alpha Kids consumed the Sucker.
Rips[]
The first rip featuring "Showtime (Original Mix)" was "It's Showtime! (Original Mix) - Undertale" on April 23, 2016, in which services as an unedited switcheroo in references to the track's name. The first rip of the track would be released years later, being "Showtime (Original Mix) - Homestuck" on March 10, 2020. The latter in question was released as a Hiveswap rip before the creation of the Homestuck playlist.[1]
"Showtime (Original Mix)" is frequently used in arrangements rips, with normally having a type of pattern in them, being:
- Few of the rips featuring "Showtime (Original Mix)" often has the mix name "Original Mix", referencing the track's mix name.
- The track is sometimes paired with "It's Showtime!" from Undertale, due to the similar name. This also references the first rip that features "Showtime (Original Mix)", "It's Showtime! (Original Mix) - Undertale".
