The twenty-fifth anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog was celebrated on the SiIvaGunner channel with a speedy channel event.

SEGA hosted an official Sonic the Hedgehog anniversary party and livestream where they showed the trailer for Sonic Mania and announced "Project Sonic 2017" which turned out to be Sonic Forces. During the livestream, several rips were uploaded that were related to the livestream itself, including rips of games announced and issues with the livestream. As well as that, SiIvaGunner tweeted out various rips of Sonic games during the live performance of various Sonic songs of the franchise, including the various "Grand Metropolis" rips.
The Totino's meme was also born on this day as a reference to the stream being sponsored by Totino's.
