The "Prelude" is a frequently piece of melody music that appears in almost every single Final Fantasy games. It was first composed by Nobuo Uematsu for the first game of the series, it was made in 10 minutes and added at the last minute before of his release. Since then, it has been considered an important piece of music in the franchise.
"Prelude" was first used in the original game's file selection screen, as well as in the party formation and the world map screens. Since then, it has frequently appeared as a File Select theme (especially in the Finest Fantasy for Advance releases). The song would also being used as the "Crystal Theme", starting off with the game Final Fantasy IV, in which was used in the crystal rooms.
The song would also receive arrangements and remixes, as well being referenced in spin-offs and outside of the Final Fantasy series; such as remixes for Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring and Super Mario RPG, as motifs seen in the Kingdom Hearts series and in the Genshin Impact track, "Statue of the Seven".
