The Simpsons is an American animated sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series is a satirical depiction of working-class life epitomized by the Simpson family, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. The show is set in the fictional town of Springfield and parodies American culture, society, television, and the human condition.

Since its debut on December 17, 1989, 649 episodes of The Simpsons have been broadcast. Its 30th season began on October 1, 2018, and renewed up to 32nd season. It is the longest-running American sitcom and the longest-running American animated program, and, in 2009, it surpassed Gunsmoke as the longest-running American scripted primetime television series.[1]

As The Simpsons is a popular American animated TV series like The Flintstones, the series' theme song (titled "The Simpsons Theme" or "The Simpsons Main Title Theme"), along with that of Family Guy, was used to replace the main theme of 7 GRAND DAD (a variation of "Meet the Flintstones") during the Reboot.

However, The Simpsons and Family Guy's melodies tend to be difficult to incorporate in a high quality rip,[2] and while the two universes have been merged after the Reboot, The Simpsons has a status of a secondary meme and is not used frequently aside from medley rips.

In more recent times, two songs from The Simpsons started to be commonly referenced in rips: "Gonna Paint Our Wagon" from "All Singing, All Dancing" starting in April 2017 and the "Skinner and the Superintendent" theme song that plays in the famous "Steamed Hams" scene from "22 Shorts Films About Springfield" starting in February 2018.
