The song comes from the game show Jeopardy!, and was created (alongside the show itself) by Merv Griffin in 1964. With rare exception (most notably the 1978-79 series), it has remained on the program in some form or another ever since. Initially only used as the 30-second timer cue for Final Jeopardy!, it was made the show's main theme tune starting in 1984. "Think!" has been used on some versions of Jeopardy! produced outside the United States, with others using a soundalike or a different piece of music altogether. In 1997, Steve Kaplan made his own arrangements of the song for the American version, with one featuring a piano that lasted only two weeks, and one featuring a trumpet, which lasted until 2008.
The music from the Genesis release of Jeopardy! is known to have been swiped for use in the unlicensed game Super Mario World 64, which was given more publicity after Vinesauce Joel played the game and made fun of the end screen where the theme played.[1] This then became an inside joke within Joel's fanbase.
However, the first rip directly of "Think!" would not come until 2 years later during the Grinch Takeover, with the rip "Title Theme - Jeopardy! (Genesis)", after which it started gaining more rips. Although the use of "Think!" from this point on is not directly associated with Joel's stream, almost all "Think!" rips come from the Genesis release as a residual aspect.
There are currently 16 rips of "Think!" on the SiIvaGunner channel.
