Underground

"Underground" (also known as "Underground Theme") is a frequently ripped track from the Super Mario series.

Summary[]

"Underground" first appeared in Super Mario Bros. and plays in underground areas of the game. The theme has reappeared in most Super Mario games since then. The track has been reused directly in games such as Super Mario Bros. 2 (JP), Super Mario Maker and Super Mario Maker 2.

The first arrangement of this track, "Underground BGM", appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3. The track has also been rearranged for other games, such as Super Mario All-Stars, Super Mario 64, New Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Odyssey.

Rips[]

There are currently 72 high quality rips of "Underground", including the 12 rips of the arrangement from Super Mario Bros. 3, "Underground BGM". There are only four rips of the original version from Super Mario Bros..

The first "Underground" rip in general was "Cave Dungeon - Super Mario 64", which was uploaded to GiIvaSunner on March 6, 2016,^[1] and was not re-released after the channel's termination. The next rip of "Underground" was "Underground BGM - Super Mario Bros. 3", which was released on GiIvaSunner on March 6, 2016,^[2] and was reuploaded to SiIvaGunner on May 7, 2016.

Other than GiIvaSunner-only rips and rips of the Super Mario Bros. 3 version, the first rip of "Underground" was the mashup "Interlude - Super Mario Galaxy", which was released on GiIvaSunner on March 23, 2016,^[3] and then reuploaded to SiIvaGunner on April 27, 2016.
