Waluigi is a lanky troublemaker often nearby his partner-in-crime Wario. He serves as the rival of Luigi and partner of Wario the in spin-offs of the Mario series such as the Mario Kart and Mario Party games. He wears a purple and black traditional plumber outfit. His logo is an upside down yellow "L" (Γ). His name is actually based on a Japanese pun, "warui" meaning evil.
He first appeared in Mario Tennis, when the developer Camelot Soft. realized they had no one to pair Wario in double matches. Not really liked by the audience at first, the character eventually started to grow on people as the various developers working on the spin-off games, having no real point of reference for the character, started to give him crazy out-of-nowhere abilities and a self-deprecating personality. Due to this and the webcomic Brawl in the Family putting the spotlight on Waluigi in a lot of strips, he eventually became a meme in various Internet circles.[1]
His theme song is "Waluigi Pinball", which first appeared in Mario Kart DS. The song is actually used on both the Waluigi Pinball and Wario Stadium stages, but is more associated with Waluigi due to the Wario franchise already providing themes for Wario, as well as the Waluigi Pinball stage being liked more than Wario Stadium. Its appearance under the name "Waluigi Pinball" in Super Smash Bros. Brawl cemented the track as Waluigi's theme.
Waluigi became part of the channel with "Opening Scene - Waluigi's Tacostand", a video that was originally titled as the supposed final episode of The SilvaGunner Christmas Comeback Crisis, "Last Hurrah [FINALE]". In this episode, Waluigi is shown watching TV during the events of the arc, and going to his first day at work at El Bean's taco stand. He then learns how to make a tacos, but decides to put garlic in it, which causes a portal to suddenly appear.
In the CCC side episode "The Life and Times of Wade L.D.", President Haltmann is shown researching a garlic taco in his lab as he is interested by its ability to create interdimensional portals. The garlic taco is revealed to have been stolen by 2B, who reveals to Wade L.D. that it comes from Waluigi's Tacostand.
