"Yankin" is a song performed by the American rapper Lady. It is also a major meme on the SiIvaGunner channel.

Overview[]

In 2010, Lady released her album Bitch From Around The Way 2. One of the songs in the album was "Yankin".

In 2014, the song was featured in Vinesauce Vinny's Super Mario Galaxy Repainted stream as the music for the Battlerock Galaxy level. This appears to be the first time the song was used in a memetic context. In 2019, its use in a few SiIvaGunner rips would inspire the inside joke of a takeover event dedicated to the song on the Official SiIvaGunner Fan Server.

Similarly to memes such as "Crank That", "Yankin" can be easily recreated and remixed due to its generic and easily obtainable synths and instruments. The first rip to feature "Yankin" was "Gusty Garden Galaxy - Super Mario Galaxy".

However, it did not become a recurring meme until being featured in over 100 rips during the Pussy Yankover, in a fulfilment of the fan server joke. The event's inevitable poor reception has fueled its occasional use afterward. Prior to the event, it was featured in at least 12 rips.

Since the introduction of "Astronaut in the Ocean" as a channel meme, the instrumental of "Yankin" has been commonly paired with it.
